The Camera platform is a classic example of a structure that at first glance seems rather simple ...

… but persistently eludes your understanding if you want to reproduce it from memory, or even construct it without any plans at all - just using photos and a placeholder scheme.

It stands at an angle of about 120° to the front, but the base is somehow twisted so that it protrudes at right angles from the side column, but there is still a cross and ... so how was that now, again from the start ...

Anyway, the LUT has 8 of them, the upper one is mirrored at the corner between Side 1 and Side 4. It was originally placed one floor below until the NASA designers noticed that it was an insurmountable obstacle for the command module service arm. Nobody's perfect.

Most platforms are at ground level to the floor, but some - as shown here above level 240 - were mounted at half height. To maintain the camera, some particularly daring LUT worker had to climb a skinny ladder to get to the cameras. A job with a breathtaking view, so to speak *ggg*
